Okay, leave faith aside if it feels too childish…I know, how can you have childlike faith? It was stolen a long time ago. To have childlike faith is to be innocent. That’s a tough one.
Just remember that you know your heart well enough to honour yourself. love will feel effortless, certain and fully aligned with who you are. If you don’t feel that way, it’s not love. Not the kind God has in store for you.
Do not forget who you are!
You are created in His image and likeness.
Yes you are!
Yes You are!!
Yes. It’s true.
Even Jesus yelled at god. Even Jesus felt frustration.
Even Jesus felt misunderstood. Not one person stood up for his “intentions”. Only silent women and an underaged boy kept him company.
All who weren’t allowed a voice. The dead he raised, pretended to stay dead. The deaf, dumb and blind, acted like they didn’t receive their healing. This man risked his life and not one showed up. They even slut shamed the business woman who stood by him for centuries. Even his “favourite”, the same apostles and disciples who argued with each other to who should sit next to him, did not really believe him when he said he would rise up again.
Judas, the one he trusted even with his finances turned out to be the one to sell him out. For what? Silver? The same man who told Jesus he could do better if not more.
He was betrayed while his guard was down.
Yes, they were all afraid of getting arrested. An irrational fear. No one got arrested until they started creating a movement in his name. But, these were the same people who sold everything to follow him. The same people who enjoyed his miracles.
How do you think he felt? Yes, he was angry and yelled at his friends for not taking him seriously or understanding him.
He was annoyed they didn’t feel what he felt. Yes, he even yelled at god for abandoning him.
His suffering may come across as short lived, but, suffering is still suffering.
Pain is still pain.
Betrayal still feels just as deep. He was truly human.
A wimp.
Like you? Certainly like me!
